are these pastels water soluble?
Reply
:iconaurorawienhold:
AuroraWienhold Featured By Owner Jan 19, 2013  Professional General Artist
I would say no. Since I always fix the pastels, before painting with the watercolors, it's more like a white sheet again. The media do not mix. I don't use too much water in this technique.

Are they soft pastels then? The smudgy types that need fixative?

Just a question: Are you using oil pastels, or chalk pastels?
What brands do you use (for all types of mediums)?
Reply
:iconaurorawienhold:
AuroraWienhold Featured By Owner Jan 22, 2012  Professional General Artist
I sometimes work with both, but if I use oil pastels I'll add the oil in the description.
When I say pastels I always mean chalk pastels, here I used the chalk ones.
Some more informations about brands can be found here: [link]
Tell me, if you have more questions.
